Know Your Limits:
Always stop if you feel pain. If you
have a pre-existing medical condition be
sure to consult your physician. Pay
attention to the limitations of each
pose. Never force yourself.

Listen to Your Body:
Practice listening to your body and it
will reward you with great benefits

Breathe:
Before, during, and after each pose, try
to breathe fully expanding your lungs to
their fullest.

Expand Your Comfort Zone:
Go beyond what you think you can do.
Explore other possibilities. Start small
and build on your success. The sky is
the limit!!

Have fun:
Don’t take Yoga so seriously that you
forget to enjoy it.

Let Go of Self-Judgment:
Be aware of self-judgment in class.
Voices of fear or disappointment may
visit you. But be gentle and patient
with yourself. Whether you have

practiced before or not, let yourself be
a beginner and maintain an attitude of
freshness and wonder.

Make This Your Time:
Set aside worries, fears, troubles, and
possibilities.

Wear loose and comfortable clothing that
allows the skin to breath. Bare feet are
essential. You may wish to bring a
warm outer layer and socks to cover up
during relaxation.

It is
best to not eat before your class.
A light snack of fruit two hours before
class is suggested.

Please
inform the instructor of any medical
conditions prior to class.

If you
are new to physical activities, please
consult your physician before attending
class.

Turn
off cell phones or pagers so as not to
disturb yourself or others in class.

Arrive
10 minutes prior to class so that you
will have time to settle in and change
clothes if you need too. Class
will start on time.

When
entering the room, picture yourself
entering an environment of peace and
relaxation. Please be considerate
and keep social conversations to a
minimum as you enter the yoga class.

Please
come to class on time but don't stress
if you are a minute or so late.
Just relax before you enter the room and
take your place in a quiet manner.

If you
are planning on leaving early, please
let the instructor know at the beginning
of class. (It is important to spend at
least five minutes relaxing after yoga
to feel any real benefits from the
class.)

Be sure
to drink lots of water after class to
continue to reap the benefits of your
practice.
