Gentle Senior Yoga

"I have been taking a Yoga fir Seniors class with Erin for approximately six months. Really love the class and hate when I have to miss....
Recently I had to have a medical test and the technician said that the pictures were looking really good. Then he started to hesitate and had a funny look on his face....I asked if now the pictures weren't looking so good?? He Replied that the problem was that I was breathing so deeply I was distorting the picture. "How old are you?" he asked me, I told him 75 years old. He said, " That's what I thought your paperwork said, but you really have exceptional breathing capacity for a person of that age." Then I told him I was taking yoga classes and that my teacher really stressed the importance of deep breathing. "Well," he said, "If you could breath a little more shallow for this test it would go a lot faster." So I tried and realized the difference in how my breath is now without effort, opposed to the short breaths I use to take.
Thanks Erin!"

Clackamas Community College Yoga

"I wanted to say thank you for everything you've taught me in yoga. I was awake when I had all my wisdom teeth taken out and it wasn't pleasant at all. I couldn't feel anything but I got really anxious when I had that gas mask thing over my nose and the protective glasses on and every ones hands in my mouth and them telling me I couldn't breath through my mouth at all. It all got very claustrophobic, very fast. But when they reminded me to breath deeply in and out through my nose I immediately thought of you and yoga class. I started counting to time my breaths. In 1, out 1. In 1, 2, out 1, 2. And so on to ten. When I got to ten I went back to the number that was the most comfortable and stuck with that. Counting in 5 and out 5. I also unclenched my hands, laid them flat on my stomach and used "my inside eye" to watch them slowly rise up and down with my breath, until the dentist said all done. I honestly don't think it would have been so smooth for me if it had not been for what I learned from you and the practice. Thank you so much ♥"
